INFO
Hello and thank you for visiting my website.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember
and by 1980 it had evolved into African wildlife portraiture.
Everybody deserves a portrait - right ?!
Now, so many years later and having retired from a
career in veterinary nursing, I am really enjoying my
2nd career in just art.
Why draw African wildlife?
Growing up in South Africa, I developed a lasting
interest for the country's animals. Drawing them allows
me to try to replicate the detail of endlessly different
textures. I do not include a habitat setting, preferring
to keep the focus on the individual being portrayed.
I have had 4 smaller exhibitions held on my framer's
premises in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2011.
The next was in 2020 in a designated gallery space. In
2019 I also finally got my own website up and running !!
I do monochrome work using a range of graphite and
carbon pencils on Fabriano Artistico HP 300g paper. All my
work is framed with pale grey mat board, museum art glass
and matte black metal frames 1 cm wide and 2 cm deep.
Originals for sale only - no prints available, price quote on
request.
